Answer – Microsoft Word is a word processing program which is used for formatting, creating, editing and saving a document.
b) What are the different features provided in the Microsoft Word? (2)

Find and replace

c) What does Moving mean is Microsoft Word?(1)
Answer – Moving means to move a text or cut a text from one place and paste it on a different location.
d) What does Copying a text means? (1)
Answer – Copying a text means the text remains at the same location and we can paste the same text on other location.
e) How to move/copy a text in MS Word? (5)
Answer – To move/copy a text in MS Word,
First open the MS Word.
Then click on the Home option.
Click on Move/Copy, which one you want to do.
Now click on the location where you want to paste it.
Now click on paste button.
The word will be moved or copied.
f) What is Undo feature? (1)
Answer – Undo feature is used to reverse the actions while doing work on a document.
g) Why red and blue colour wavy line shows under the text in MS Word? (2)

Whenever we make a spelling mistake the red wavy line comes under the word.
The blue wavy line indicates grammatical mistakes.

j) How to use Thesaurus? (5)
Answer – To use Thesaurus the following steps should be followed,
First you have to select the word which you want to change.
Then click on the review tab.
After clicking the review tab click on the Thesaurus button.
The Thesaurus task pans opens and displays the selected word on top and suggested replacement for the world on the bottom.
Now select a suitable word.
Now click on insert.
k) What is the find and replace command in MS Word? (2)
Answer – In MS Word find command is used to search a particular word or text.
The Replace command is used to replace the selected text or word with the new text.
l) How to use Find and Replace command in MS Word? (10)
Answer – To use Find and Replace command in MS Word the following steps should be followed,
First select the document
Then click on the home tab.
After that click on replace.
The find and replace box will appear.
Now type the text you want to find.
Now type the text you want to use in the place of the text you typed.
Next click on find next to start the search.
Microsoft Word will highlight the first matching word it finds.
Now click on the following options,
Replace
Replace all
Find next
After that the Word gets replaced.
Now click on okay to close dialogue box.
Next click on cancel to close the find and replace dialogue box.
m) What are the benefits of Mail merge? (5)
Answer – The benefits of mail merge includes,
- It makes it is easy to change something in one single letter and it will be changed in other letters also.
- After setting up the merge any number of letters can be sent and customized very quickly.
- It makes it easy to proof-read just one letter instead of reading hundreds of individual letters.
