- Revision lesson (Let’s Remember what we Learnt Earlier )—Adding and subtracting two digit numbers (total less than 100),multiplying a single digit number with a single digit number, dividing a two digit number with a single digit number (1 to 5),creating a real-life problem with two digit number and solving it,pattern of numbers
- Identifying bigger number and using it (Let’s Remember what we Learnt Earlier, Let’s have a school trip , Let us play with coloured cards, Let’s look at the milestones, Let’s pick flowers from the garden, Let’s have fun with cards, Let’s divide equally)—- Developing the concept of the usefulness of three digit numbers,Learning to write three digit numbers in figures and words.,Discovering the method to judge big and small numbers.,Judging two/ three digit numbers to be big/ small by using the above mentioned method and using symbols denoting greater/smaller.,Learning to add/ subtract two numbers o f three-digits.,Learning to add/subtract a one/two/three digit number with/from a three digit number.,Learning to add three one/two/three digit number (total should be 999 or less).,Creating real-life problem of adding or subtracting of a one/two/three digit number with a three digit number and finding solution through mental calculation.,Learning to multiply two/three digit number with a single digit number (less than 5),Mentally calculating a real-life arithmetic problem or through activities enables the learner to develop the skill in multiplication. However, the product should be less than 999,Learning to divide three digit number by single digit number (not exceeding 5)
- Developing the concept of a regular geometrical design and engaging into a fun-game using that concept (Let’s go to Annual sports day, Lets look at the layout and draw the next)— Learning the mathematical terms and developing the skill to draw a straight line, triangle, rectangle, square and circle.,Playing with the two dimensional figure such as triangle, rectangle, square, circle and a straight little, pattern of shapes (in continuity with class II, slightly complex)
- Developing the concept of buying and selling/using money (Let’s have fun at the fair)—– The concept of addition and subtraction can be developed initially with the use of original currency notes and later by dealing real-life problems through mental calculation. However, use o f decimals should be avoided for separating Rupees with Paisa. It should be written in the following ways: 3 rupees 40 paisa, 7 rupees 50 paisa etc.
- Internal Formative Evaluation—– Survey, Nature Study, Case Study, Creative Writing, Model Making, Open Textbook Evaluation
- Developing the concept of odd and even numbers (Let’s Buy shoes and socks, Let’s gather divide and eat fruits)—– Learning the odd and even numbers of single digit through real-life experience (e.g a pair of bananas a pair of shoes etc.) and doing activities,Learning the odd and even numbers two digits through real-life experience and performing activities.,Discovering the method of identifying the odd and even numbers of three digits.,Developing the concept of divisibility (by 2 and 3) by engaging the learners into mathematical number game.,Exploring the concept of odd/even numbers formed by adding/subtracting/ multiplying two even numbers.
- Learning to multiply/divide with numbers of 6 to 10 (Let’s count the legs of ants, Sit and draw as you like)—– Developing multiplication table (6 to 10) and using of the table to solve real-life problem through multiplication.,Dividing a two digit number by a number between 6 to 10 and the practicing the method for solving real-life problems.,Learning division through mental calculation for solving real-life problems so that the quotient is zero.,Solving real-life problems of dividing a two digit number with a one digit number and ability to create similar problem and solving it.
- Learning to multiply/divide a three digit number by a one digit number (Sit and draw as you like Let’s Buy shoes and socks, Let’s gather divide and eat fruits)—-developing the skill multiply a three digit number with a one digit number.,developing the skill to divide a three digit number by a one digit number.,developing the skill to divide, initially by mental calculation, so that there will not be any remainder and zero in the quotient.,developing the skill to divide a number (initially by mental calculation) so that there will be no remainder and the quotient has zero, developing the skill to judge the correctness of division a two digit number.,If there is a remainder in a division, initially the learner may mentally calculate with one digit divisor and dividend and thereby realize that dividend can be calculated by multiplying the divisor with the quotient and adding the remainder to it. Later, the division process becomes easy even if the divisor is a two digit number.,developing the skill to create and solve real-life problems related to division by dividing a three digit number by a one digit number, developing the skill to judge the correctness of division while dividing a three digit number.
- Internal Formative Evaluation—- Survey,Nature Study,Case Study,Creative Writing,Model Making,Open Textbook Evaluation
- Preliminary concept of average (answers should not have fractions) (Let’s chat near a pond on a holiday)—- Based on real-life incident, mentally calculating the average of two close numbers and thereby developing the concept of average through equal distribution.,Making average by adding and dividing and also finding the middle number.,Creating average related real-life problems and finding solutions.
- Simplification (Let’s do work properly)—- Creating a problem by the application o f any two mathematical process from addition/subtraction/ multiplication/division using three single digit numbers., Creating a problem by the application of any two mathematical process from addition/ subtraction/ multiplication/division using three two digit numbers.,Realizing the usefulness of using brackets
- Fun in mathematics regarding similarity of numbers, simple games with numbers, activities related to pattern (Let’s prepare a calendar ( Let’s prepare a distribution of numbers)—– Learning to make fun with calendar., Varieties of patterns with 2 and 3 etc
- Internal Formative Evaluation—– Survey, Nature Study, Case Study, Creative Writing, Model Making, Open Textbook Evaluation
- Measuring time and addition or subtraction of time ( Let’s do it on time, Let’s watch which clock hand moves faster, Let’s plan a date to visit my village house during the holidays)—– Developing the concept of hour-minute-second by using a clock or a picture of a clock., Using a clock or a picture of a clock and mentally calculating the subtraction of time, It is better to develop the concept of subtraction o f time by using the picture of a clock. The concept of 60 minutes making an hour is to be developed in the problems of subtraction o f hour and minute., Developing the concept of day-week-month-year using a calendar., Using a calendar or a picture of a calendar and learning to solve problems of addition and subtraction related to year-month-day through mental calculation, Developing the concept of leap year by using calendar of four consecutive years.
