Specific features:
Sunderbans is popularly known for its widely spread mangrove forest which can live only in saline soil and water. One can identify mangrove trees like sundari, goran, geowa, hetal etc. by looking at its breathing roots and supportive roots. The Sundarbans is separated from human invasion by various rivers and their tributaries which play great roles in conserving the forest. People enjoy the long boat rides through rivers and have the amazing experience of riverside forests. Visitors have to cruise through creeks and canals to reach sajnekhali watchtower and mangrove interpretation centre. From the Dobanke watch tower people may gain experience of watching different birds, dears, crocodiles and other reptiles and pug marks of tigers which are evident to bring charm and enthusiasm in mind. If one is lucky then can see royal Bengal tiger too from far while they cross rovers or just roam inside the forest.
Things to remember:
Trip of sunderban is a perfect example of experiencing deep forest, wildlife creatures, bird watching and learning about custom and culture of local people. Though sunderbans is famous among tourists and earned the status of national park and tiger reserve forest still local people are far away from basic facilities to live life. They live in extremely limited resources which they earn by irregular occupations. People depend on forest resources, fishes etc. to sell and earn little money which is not enough for their daily living. Even some people take risk to go inside dense forest for collecting forest resources and come in front of tigers which take their lives. So, we should contribute much for local people survival by buying their products and encourage them to increase their business.
Conclusion:
Sunderbans is great example of pride to us which covers both west Bengal and Bangladesh. It is our responsibility too to protect the national park so that royal Bengal tigers live freely in their natural habitats. The government should take immediate initiatives for improving the social life of local people and confirm that they get all basic resources and facilities from the government. The government should take steps for increase education and employment opportunities with which people will find their ways of development.
