Speech on Knowledge Is Power
INTRODUCTION
Respected Principal Sir/Madam, teachers and dear fellow students. Before this beautiful day I have been given a lucky chance to address the future of our world. In my full effort and attention I intend to say a few words regarding my topic- “Knowledge is Power”.
BODY
We are a part of an ever-changing and non-forgiving world. And as its citizens we must choose wisely what we put into ourselves. Of course I mean from putting in, the information we so unwisely choose to consume. If you give a careful thought to human dynamics and the way our minds work, you would discover a weakness, an apparent subconscious passage into our minds. The information we consume gets stored there and without our conscious effort influences our decision making and analysis. Our minds are powerful and weak with varying degrees just because of its knowledge base. The knowledge we choose to consume not only influences us but also everyone around us. In these times we can most certainly say that knowledge is power, and whoever has it is on an edge. We have multiple sources of knowledge; let’s call them nodes, so the various nodes are television, books, mobile phones, computers, and NEWS etc. But if nodes are 100 the knowledge they give is countless. It may take a person million years to study each and every aspect of available knowledge and master it completely. But sadly, each one of us has limited time and so we must choose wisely after thinking clearly what we should choose to consume and what to discard. Knowledge creates the distinction between man to man; it is the quantity and quality of knowledge and skill which determines our future. But here lies the most complex of all problems; we have a huge proportion of information exposure. We sadly do not know how to stop and shield ourselves from the useless garbage. The grandest of all the knowledge imparters are mobile pones and computers. But both of these being a store house of good and evil bombard our senses with unnecessary burden. As we store more and more unnecessary information in our unconscious mind, our habits and behavior begins to change. We start to do things that are compulsive, being unaware of the inner workings of mind we start to lose control over ourselves and commit acts of misdeeds. But all of this can be stopped for good, knowing this ultimate truth all we have to do is just choose correctly and wisely the information we are viewing. We can learn anything we choose and change the world around us in a better way. All we have to do to change our circumstances is to apply all the knowledge we acquired. There is absolutely not an inch of a doubt in my mind that knowledge is power indeed. The extent of knowledge will always define us, as a nation or a citizen. The depth of thought isn’t deep enough to capture the true strength of knowledge. The knowledge we have acquired must be used wisely for the benefit of the world and its people, for the benefit of the entire globe.
CONCLUSION
The knowledge must be passed on to future generations in a careful and meaningful way, in a manner and style which the young minds of today and tomorrow will properly grasp and may put them to a rightful use. May the world benefit from the knowledge we acquire. Thank you all for being such a patient crowd.
