- Why do you think people in Aama’s village left their houses and took shelter in the open space during the earthquake?
Answer –Because in the open space it is less dangerous as the damaged building, poles, fans can’t fall on them and less chances of being trapped under rubbles.
- Identify different places where people took shelter when their houses were damaged.
Answer – Different places such as garage, open spaces, under the table, bed etc.
- What would you have done if you were inside the house during the earthquake?
Answer – I would take shelter under a table or bed to save myself from getting injured from rubbles or any heavy things.
- Identify the places in your house that can provide cover during an earthquake like tables and desk and also tell your family about it.
Answer – The places are table, beds, desk, wooden boxes etc.
- At times like these, when people have lost their homes, family members and belongings, what is the help they would need?
Answer –They would need help such as food, water, medicine, clothes etc.
- What makes the newly designed houses resistant to earthquakes?
Answer –The foundation of the building and the design is such that it can resist earthquake.
- In the newspapers, look for news reports related to disasters like earthquakes, fire, flood etc. Collect these reports and paste them in your notebook.

teachers and elders make a list of things that we need to keep ready in case of an emergency.

Answer –When we are inside the house during an earthquake, we should take cover under table, desk or bed to protect ourselves from rumbling.

Answer: We shouldn’t run around here and there during an earthquake because if we do so, there is a risk that we might get severely injured by falling objects.
Do not construct houses or buildings near areas where landslides are common.
2.) Planting trees on hill slopes can reduce landslides as they form a natural barrier to the landslides.
3.) Tall and gigantic walls should be built along the slopes of the hills to block the debris of the landslide falling onto the roads and houses.

Answer –Man and animals shares a great relationship since stone age. Men are dependent on animals for vast number of things such as milk, meat, egg, their skin, wool, for cultivation, for transportation etc. and these above mentioned image is also an example that we need animals. Those people while suffering from flood trying to keep the animals safe. This shows how much animals means to us and how we should care for them.
