Rights and Duties of a Citizen: Every human being has major responsibilities towards the development and prosperity of society being a social animal. Democratic system of a country completely based on the freedoms and rights of citizens. To fulfil the responsibilities we are given some basic rights from the constitution of our country. Rights and duties are complement to each other which cannot be fulfilled in the absence of other. With the specific rights citizens can focus on their individual development to improve social life. Rights given to citizens are called fundamental rights which cannot be taken back from us. In this composition, we will discuss about the basic rights and its utilization ways for fulfilling the responsibilities of citizens.
Basic rights of our country:
The first and significant right is right to freedom with which people can express their ideas, opinions, speech independently. According to this right, a person is free to speak or carry on any business in any part of the country. India is a country where people of different religions live in different states together. According to right to freedom of religion anyone can follow any religion of their choice and believe to which no one can interfere. As per right to equality people have no difference or discrimination between rich and poor, high and low level people. Persons of any age, caste, sex, social and economic status can reach highest position in academics or profession. With the right of education every child can gain education from any institution to any level. There is right to exploitation for which no one can force anybody to work against his wish or without wages. Right to constitutional remedies protect all fundamental rights and no one can demolish all other rights as per it.
Major responsibilities as a citizen:
Rights cannot be implemented properly without required duties as both aspects are interrelated. People do not have the right of being benefitted from fundamental rights when they do not follow their duties. As a responsible citizen we must respect our national anthem and national flag in all places irrespective of situations. We all should respect and obey the laws of our country. We should enjoy the freedom of rights without disturbing freedom of others. Every individual should be always ready to protect his country in all situations. We should protect and respect all national property and public property. To maintain the economy of country we should pay tax within time.
Conclusion:
Duties are rights are two important aspects of human which are inseparable from the other. Both the aspects are so interlinked that one can be applied effectively without the other. As a responsible citizen we should definitely follow rights and focus on the appropriate responsibilities. It is our responsibility to protect the rights and work together for developing the society.
