1.) How did mother Teresa appeal to fight against abortion?
Answer. In mother Teresa’s view, abortion was the greatest form of destroyer of peace. People indulge I direct war with god by killing unborn child. Birth is the most beautiful gift by god but a mother denies god’s gift by aborting her child. When a mother can kill her own child, there no love and peace can take place. She said that people ae confronting god directly by killing children and destroying peace of life. Mother appealed everywhere around the country not to abort unborn children rather she requested to bring those unwanted children to her. She with her sisters and brothers worked hard and saved thousands of lives just by adopting. They sent this vital message to all the hospitals, clinics and police stations where they got news of aborting unwanted children. On the other hand, there was excessive demand of children to them from the families of no children. So, she could create smiles on the face of thousands mothers by saving those unwanted children and giving them. Those mothers saw new light of motherhood for mother Teresa and that was an incredible achievement to her.
2.) What was the extraordinary experience of mother Teresa with a Hindu family having eight children?
Answer. Mother Teresa met an extraordinary experience with a Hindu family in her area which had eight children. A gentleman informed her one day that a poor family nearby having eight children had been starving for so long. She took some rice with her and reached there immediately. She was shocked to see the extreme poor condition and suffering of the family. She could notice the eyes of the children were shining with hunger. But the action of the lady of the family amazed her. The lady divided the rice in two parts and went out by taking one part of it. When she came back, mother Teresa asked her about it. She replied that she went to share the rice with a Muslim family who were hungry like them. That day mother Teresa did not bring more rice because she wanted them to enjoy the joy of sharing. The lady did not think about religious barrier but she shared love and care as part of humanity. This fact assured mother Teresa about the greatness of people.
3.) Why did the poor lady die with a smile on her face despite suffering?
Answer. One day mother Teresa and her sisters went out to serve for poor people. They picked up four poor people from the street out of which one woman was in serious condition, she asked her sisters to take care of the rest three people and took the severe ill lady with her. She tried to comfort her with all the love and care. But mother Teresa was surprised to see the greatness of the lady even in the difficult situation. A normal person would complain about her problem like having no food, shelter, love, peace and care. But that lady expressed her gratitude to mother Teresa with a smile on her face for helping her in the severe condition. She simply took the hands of mother Teresa and said her ‘thank you’ with a smile and died. She had no complaints against life and she died peacefully.
4.) How did mother Teresa feel when she visited an old age home?
Answer. Mother Teresa got a chance to visit an old age home for some work. She noticed a strange fact there which made her worried and sad. She found that all the necessities and facilities were available in the old age home for its inhabitants which they require for a comfortable living. But nobody seemed happy or satisfied there. Everyone was looking at the door now and then just like they were waiting for someone. Mother was surprised and asked the sister the reason behind it. The nurse replied that it was an event of every day. They used to expect their son or daughter to come and visit them for which they kept seeing the door. But they did not come actually which made their situation worse. Despite having all the facilities of a comfortable life there was emptiness in their heart which cannot be fulfilled. They were gloomy and hurt so much that they forgot to smile.
5.) Why did mother Teresa say poor people as great people?
Answer. Mother Teresa appealed towards audience about both the physical and emotional suffering of poor people of our society. She considered poor people as great though they had to face lots of sufferings to survive by their own. She explained the many ways how we could learn about humanity and moral lessons from poor people. She shared some heart touching incidents with poor people that she experienced. In one evening she picked up a poor lady from the street in extreme serious condition. She tried to cure her with all the love, care and basic needs at first. But she was amazed the see the lady’s behaviour. She was not bothered to blame anyone, complain against her situation and draw attention to her. She was just satisfied enough that mother Teresa brought her from the unhealthy condition. She expressed her gratitude to mother Teresa and said thank you with smile on her face. She picked up another man from drain whose body was half eaten by worms. He expressed the similar attitude as he was dying like an angel being loved and cared. She spoke up about a boy of four years who did not eat sugar for three days and stored it to give it to mother Teresa. Later mother Teresa kept that sugar to be used for her children. She met an extraordinary lady of a Hindu family who was starving for so long with her eight children. But when mother Teresa gave her rice she went out to share half rice with another Muslim family spending days without food. In such incidents mother Teresa reflected the greatness of poor people and how they show various ways of celebrating humanity.
