1.) What tasks, do you think, were assigned to the dog and the ox?
Answer: The dog was assigned with the task of fetching and carrying. He had stick in his mouth. The ox was assigned with the task of ploughing.
2.) Why did the camel live in the middle of the desert?
Answer: The camel lived in the middle of the Howling Desert because he didn’t want to work. He was a lazy animal.
3.) What made the dog, the horse and the ox very angry?
Answer: The camel was a lazy animal and refused to do any work. The dog, the horse and the ox complained this to their man and the man asked them to double their work and cover camel’s work too. This made the three animals angry.
4.) How did the Djinn know the horse was complaining against the camel?
Answer: Djinn was in charge of All Desert . The three animals went to him and complained about the camel. The horse without mentioning the camel’s name he referred to him as an animal who lives in the middle of the desert and has a long neck and long legs. This made the Djinn realize that the horse was talking about the camel.

Answer: The camel was looking at his own reflection in the pool which depicts that he was proud of his looks. He perceived himself a good looking animal.
2.) The camel said, “Humph” repeatedly. How did it affect him?
Answer: When the Djinn went to have a conversation with the camel about his work and tried to him understand his duties,the camel ignored it and kept saying’’humph’’. This made the Djinn annoyed and when the camel once again said it, his back got puffed up and formed a hump.
3.) What, according to the Djinn, was the use of the “humph”?
Answer: The hump which was on the back of the camel could make him live without food for days The hump helped him store and make him work longer.
4.) “…he has never yet learnt to behave”. In the light of this, what is the writer’s opinion about the camel?
Answer: Even after having hump and taking advice of the Djinn, the camel does not change his attitude. He still behaves the way he used to and considers itself superior to the others.
