What is SQL?
SQL stands for Structured Query Language. Every relational database software interacts with a language known as SQL. Because, it’s a simple English like language which guidelines are provided by a standard organization ANMSI adopted by all database vendors like oracle, MySQL, Microsoft etc.
SQL is divided into how many sub languages?
SQL is very complex language to reduce its complexity it can sub calorized into 5 sub languages.
1.) DDL (DATA definition language) – Commands are used to define the structure and schema of the database.
Ex: CREATE, DROP, TRUNCATE, ALTER, RENAME
2.) DQL (Data Query Language) commands are used to fetch data that is stores in the database
Ex: SELECT
3.) DCL (Data control Language) Commands to control the access of the data stores in the database
Ex: GRANT, REVOKE
4.) DML (Data Manipulation Language) – Commands are used for accessing and manipulating the data stored from the database
