To,
The chairman,
Barrackpore municipality,
Barrackpore, Kolkata- 700120, west Bengal
Subject: To complain against the insanitary condition of roads and drains in our locality.
Respected sir,
I beg to state that I am writing this letter with a genuine concern related to citizens living in your municipality area. I am a permanent resident in Barrackpore municipality for 20 years. I have never faced such issue which I am facing for one year. All the nearby roads and drains remain unclean for the lack of maintenance. It is one of the major responsibility of the municipality to keep area clean and pure. Some roads are broken for long as it was dug for pipeline works. After that the roads have not been reconstructed yet and we have to go through such roads regularly. It becomes so difficult to pass through traffic at busy times in morning, evening or anytime. In rainy season, water gets logged in the holes and make our lives more problematic. Normal living, moving through roads become difficult. The condition of drains is also same. Heap of garbage is there and water cannot pass properly. As a result, those drains have become home of mosquitoes. We are getting diseases like dengue, malaria etc. for such undesirable condition.
It will be really unhealthy to stay long in such state. The present condition of roads and drains has disrupted our normal living. If the municipality authority takes strong action of cleaning drain and constructing roads immediately then we will come out of this danger definitely. We will be grateful to you if you take suitable steps as soon as possible to rescue us from this situation.
Thank you,
Yours faithfully,
Suchandra Sengupta
